Lived Experience

A ‘lived experience’ is defined as the knowledge and understanding that comes from living through a particularly challenging life event or situation. This may include experiencing a mental health condition, loss, challenging family situations, critical (traumatic) workplace incident/s or stress associated with operational or other work.

What you will hear here, are not scripted narratives, they are dialogues from your colleagues and peers in Emergency Services, raw and honest, messages about challenge and survival. Our participants invite you to share their journey in the hope that together we can positively engender change and reduce any perceived stigma in relation to Mental Health challenges. Taking care of your mental health and physical wellbeing has never been more important and it’s everyone’s business.
